Conference Goals
Raise awareness of the impact of polytrauma and combat stress injuries on military service members, veterans, families, employers, and the community.

Create a road map to mobilize resources in our communities and at all levels
of government.

Polytrauma and Combat Stress

One quarter of the military service personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan suffer from combat stress injuries, according to the American Psychological Association. Additionally, thousands of these service personnel return with physical injuries such as traumatic brain injury, amputations, burns, severe disfigurement, and hearing and vision impairments. In most cases injured personnel experience multiple wounds - in other words, polytrauma.

The Heroes conferences bring together clinicians, educators, employers, state and federal government representatives, members of the faith-based community, criminal justice professionals, policy makers, the media and...you!

Together we will create a road map that mobilizes resources in our communities and at all levels of government to ensure a bright future for those who defend our freedom.
